RollCanvas Download
Roll Canvas is a drawing software that equips with a cylindrical canvas that can either rotate backward or forward. Drawing with this software allows you to express your own creativity on the rotating canvas. The completed artwork will be surprising and beyond your imagination!

Download Roll Canvas as a single ZIP file by clicking the Download button. The unzipped files include a "run.bat" file, a "RollCanvas.class" file, and a "rollcanvas"folder. For Windows users, double click "run.bat" to start the program. For Mac users, double click "RollCanvas.class" instead.



Note that RollCanvas is a Java program. Please make sure to install Java Runtime Environment before running RollCanvas.


Basic Operations


Drawing a Line on the rotating Canvas

Select the "Pencil button" in the Toolbar and draw a freehand line by dragging the canvas. Users can specify the color and width of the line. Pen tips can also be selected as circle or stamps by changing the parameter in Palette.



Palette

Change the parameters of the freehand line here. The Palette panel can either be shown or hidden by clicking the in Toolbar.

DrawStyle
Specify the parameters of the line here. From top to bottom: Line, Filled Circle, Circle, and Stamps. Stamps can be edited in the "Stamp Canvas."

LineWidth
Click and drag the Line-Width slider to adjust the line width.

LineWidth Style
Select the line style here. From top to bottom: constant line width, varied line width, and random line width.

Color
Three ways to change the color of the line: click or drag the color slider, select a color chip, or click or drag the color wheel. A gradient color or an alternate change color can also be specified with the color chips.



Control the Rotation of the Cylindrical Canvas

The canvas of RollCanvas scrolls up or down the screen during drawing. The canvas is scrolling in a constant speed and the speed can be adjusted either with keyboard or GUI.


GUI operation
Click or drag "Speed slider" in the Toolbar to adjust the scroll speed of the canvas. The scroll speed becomes zero when the slider is located in the center. The canvas can be stopped by clicking on the viewer. Drag the Viewer to start scrolling again.

External Input

Press the up and down arrows on the keyboard to adjust the scroll speed of the canvas.
